What is your experience of using e-portfolio's?

Finally!
Hi all, finally got my user name etc to work! I have used an e portfolio in my training year called PARAGON, really similar to BlueSky. I found it really useful to store evidence and literally all of my observations, powerpoints etc!

Finally!
Hi I have only just been able to access the school email and get on here, I didn't use anything like this during my PGCE so I think its great... a lot less paper :-) which is always a good thing!

I also used PebblePad during my PGCE. I agree this looks really good and much more organised than PebblePad. PebblePad was just some where to dump information! It was organised into general headings, and you had to refer to specific Q Standards yourself. I found PebblePad a bit generic. BlueSky is definitely more suited to our needs.

Re: What is your experience of using e-portfolio's?
I have used an e-portfolio for the past year (PGCE) so am familiar with the process it seems similar to social networking sites so anyone who uses any of those should pick it up easily enough. The last program I used was pebble pad and although it did its job it was not as useful as it could have been due to certain restrictions such as lack of folders and all files being in a long long list. So I hope that this one will be better. It looks good so far anyway!

fantastic!
That is great! The important thing is that we can share experiences as we learn together, i would be really interested to know of "bettter" way of doing things, already during the session, i was shown that we didnt have to open a tab to change the password, only to double click a link, can someone please explain the exact way they did? i will remember to update the resources!!!
BlueSky introduction
The introduction to BlueSky was really useful this morning. I haven't experienced using an electronic means of creating a port folio or sending evidence before. It was realms of paperwork at Herts uni. I really like the idea of being able to send evidence electronically and it seems fairly straight forward (she said). The intro was helpful and the sheets we've got are really well explained (I made it to here). However, old folk like me take a while to get used to technology, so I shall practice, practice, practice over the holiday and hope that if I get stuck and shout loud enough someone might come to my rescue!
Hope you're all enjoying the start of your teaching careers so far, I'm loving it!
